Physician Connectivity Project
VCH deliver health care services to more than one million BC residents living in Vancouver, Vancouver’s North Shore, Richmond, the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Sunshine Coast, Bella Bella, Bella Coola the Central Coast and the surrounding areas. Many of their services are offered in the 13 hospitals they operate. In addition, they also offer a number of other services including Primary Care, Community-Based Residential and Home Health Care, Mental Health, Addiction Services, Public Health, Hospital Care, and Research.
In order to enable the electronic access to clinical information, the goal of the Physician Connectivity Project was to develop a clear understanding of just how to provide the last-mile connectivity to family physicians and specialists within Vancouver Coastal Health. This project was a pilot that was structured as a learning lab. The expectation of this pilot project was that the approaches used in this project would become the toolkit for the broader regional model and included implementation and change management strategies as well as operational and financial sustainment models.
